{ CASE STUDY }
A BAR member in Manchester, one of the hardest removals markets in the country. When we started in August 2025 the site averaged position 45 on Google on under 100 clicks a month, and nearly half of those came from people who already knew the name. We merged the pages that were competing with each other, built 45 new pages and articles, and added the structured data that tells Google and the AI engines what the business does and where. A year on, searches that never mention TXM bring three times the clicks.

The work
{ THE CHALLENGE }
Easy to find, if you already knew them
TXM Movers run house, office and commercial moves across Greater Manchester. They are BAR members with a 5.0 Google rating from 209 reviews, so the quality of the work was never the issue. Finding them was. When we started in August 2025 the site averaged position 45 on Google, which is page five, and earned under 100 clicks a month. Nearly half of those clicks came from people already searching the TXM name. People who already knew them could find them. Almost nobody else could. The searches that bring in Manchester moves were out of reach. Removals manchester sat around 32nd, on page four. House removals manchester sat around 34th, and removal companies manchester around 58th, on page six. The pages above them were full of national brands, long-established Manchester movers and the big comparison sites.
{ WHAT WE DID }
Go after the city, not the villages
We went after the Manchester terms directly rather than hiding in low-competition villages, and gave each job its own page. We built 45 new pages and articles: office and commercial moves as their own proposition, cost guides that answer what customers ask before they ring, and town pages across Greater Manchester, including Salford, Stockport and Altrincham. Then we stopped the site competing with itself, which is the most common problem we see on an established site. Several pages were chasing the same Manchester searches, so we merged them and one page now owns that family of terms. Underneath that sits the work nobody sees: indexing fixes, missing headings, rewritten titles and descriptions, and structured data across the site that tells Google and the AI engines what the business does, where it works and that it is a BAR member.
If you want the city's work, you have to win the city's searches.

{ THE RESULTS }
Three times the clicks from searches that never mention the name
Clicks from people who already know a business are not what SEO is for, so the number that matters here leaves them out. Comparing the same four months a year apart, July to October 2025 against July to October 2026, clicks from searches that never mention TXM went from about 50 a month to about 159. All clicks together went from 362 to 910 across those months, and impressions doubled, from 90,212 to 185,334. The rankings moved with them. Keywords in Google's UK top ten went from 2 to 48, and the top three from none to 16. Removal companies manchester went from page six to page one, and removals manchester, the term everyone wants, went from page four to page one. One month is left out on purpose. TXM appeared in a documentary in January 2026 and clicks jumped to 453, far above any other month. That was publicity, not search, so it sits outside every comparison on this page.
Search Console, July to October 2025 against July to October 2026, with clicks from searches containing the TXM name removed. Positions for 3 to 30 October 2026. Keyword counts and the current removals manchester position, 3rd, are from Semrush, Google UK, 1 November 2026. Search Console's average for that term across all locations and devices in October was 11.2.
