SEO for European Removals

A North Yorkshire mover trading since 1976 with its own depot in Spain and a weekly road train to the continent. The European work carried the margin, and Google could not see it. Twelve months on, clicks to the European removals pages have tripled, they bring in a third of all organic traffic, and AI assistants have started sending customers too.

The work

{ THE CHALLENGE }

A European mover that Google thought was local

David Dale have been moving people since 1976. They are BAR members with a depot in Spain and a weekly road train to the continent, and European moves are the work that carries the margin. The goal from day one was simple: bring in more European moving. The search presence said the opposite. The site was being shown sixty to seventy thousand times a month for broad national searches it could never win, while the European side had one page that mentioned international and a handful of corridor pages buried on pages four to seven of Google. Removals from Spain sat at position 34, from Portugal at 45, from France at 49, and the removals to Spain page at 65. In the summer of 2025 the European pages earned 85 clicks in four months, one click in eight for the whole site.

{ WHAT WE DID }

Build the corridors as services in their own right

We treated each route as a service, not a mention. Spain, Portugal and France each got a proper page in both directions, UK to Europe and Europe back to the UK, with the process, the customs paperwork, the depot and the road train written down where Google and the AI assistants can read them. European storage got its own page. Regional children followed for the routes people actually search, Torremolinos and Alicante back to the UK among them, plus cost guides and moving-back-to-the-UK articles that answer the questions people ask before they enquire. At the same time we stopped chasing the national terms and let those impressions go. Reach that never turns into a click was diluting the pages that mattered. Domestic Yorkshire work still got its own town pages, but the weight of the year went into Europe, as sustained monthly work rather than a launch push, because corridor content takes time to rank and then holds.

Corridor demand holds through the winter while domestic moves go quiet. Building the European engine first is what makes the business counter-seasonal.

{ THE RESULTS }

Three times the European clicks, and a new source of enquiries

Between April to July 2025 and the same months in 2026, clicks to the European pages went from 85 to 257, three times over, while the site as a whole rose from 678 to 1,033 clicks. European pages went from one click in eight to one in four. By August 2026 they were one in three: 148 of the month's 438 organic clicks, against 12 of 198 in August 2025. Google Analytics shows the same thing from the other side. Organic visits rose from 274 in January 2026 to 592 in August, up 116%, and visits landing on a European page went from 28 to 172 a month, six times over. Then there is the part that did not exist a year ago: AI assistants. ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude sent 132 visits in the twelve months to August, from none at all to 86 in August alone, because the corridor pages now say plainly who David Dale are, where the depot is and how the road train works. Impressions across the whole site fell from 314,000 to 149,000 in the same period, on purpose. Fewer people saw the site, and the right people, the ones moving between Yorkshire and the continent, found it.

Search Console, four-month windows April to July, 2025 against 2026, and full Augusts. Google Analytics organic, European landing-page and AI-assistant sessions, January to August 2026.
